What this site loads

Pages are static HTML. The only third-party script this site’s own code adds is Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID G-WW90L84M6K, loaded from googletagmanager.com); Cloudflare injects one cookieless beacon of its own at the edge, described below. An inline stub sets Google Consent Mode v2 defaults to denied for ad_storage, ad_user_data, ad_personalization, and analytics_storage, turns on ads_data_redaction and url_passthrough, and runs ahead of the gtag config call, so gtag.js writes no cookie and sends no personal data until you accept. Accept updates all four storage types together, because the Adsterra ad units and Clarity load on that same choice; Reject leaves all four denied. No other third-party script is fetched before you accept. The only advertising network on this site is Adsterra, and no ad script is in the served HTML — see the Adsterra paragraph below.

Microsoft Clarity, project yyosvbnmwu, is the one session-replay and heatmap tool on this site, and it loads only after you accept. Until then no request reaches clarity.ms, no Clarity cookie is set and nothing about your visit is recorded. Accept runs an inline loader that requests the tag from www.clarity.ms and the SDK from scripts.clarity.ms; Clarity then records session replays and heatmaps and sends Microsoft the page path, clicks, scroll depth, device and browser details, coarse location and your IP address, and can write the cookies _clck and _clsk on this origin. Reject, or clearing site data for ratatan.pro, leaves Clarity unloaded. Purpose: see which parts of the guides readers actually use, so the pages get shaped around real reading. Legal basis: your consent. Retention: Microsoft’s own policy, in the Microsoft Privacy Statement. Sensitive content such as form input is masked by default.

Once you accept, Google Analytics 4 can write the cookies _ga and _ga_WW90L84M6K on this origin and send Google the page path, the referrer, and coarse location and device information. Reject, or clearing site data for ratatan.pro, leaves analytics_storage denied and the tag sends only the cookieless ping Consent Mode allows. Purpose: audience measurement, so the guides get aimed at what readers actually search for. Legal basis: your consent. Retention: Google’s own policy, in the Google Privacy Policy.

Adsterra (bicea.org) is the advertising vendor and the only ad network on this site. No ad script is in the served HTML: the page carries the two loader addresses as plain text, and both loaders are appended — one for the in-page Native Banner (Adsterra unit 31766584) and one for the floating Social Bar (Adsterra unit 31766585) — only after you accept. Reject, Global Privacy Control, or a choice you never made means bicea.org is never contacted and no ad request is made. After you accept, Adsterra serves the creative itself and may set first-party identifiers it controls (cookies or localStorage under names Adsterra chooses) on this origin; the keys this site writes itself are rt_consent_v1, rt_consent_at and rt-adbar-hidden, and none of them is an ad identifier. The ads run beside the guide content and never replace it. Purpose: pay for the hosting and the writing of these guides. Legal basis: your consent. Retention: Adsterra’s own policy, at adsterra.com/privacy-policy. The floating bar is clamped to the viewport, never widens the page, reserves room at the end of the document so it cannot cover the footer, and can be kept off for good with Hide ad bar in the footer. The seller is declared in /ads.txt.

YouTube, provided by Google, is the only optional embedded service. Local poster images load without contacting YouTube. Both consent and a separate play click are required before a privacy-enhanced player from www.youtube-nocookie.com loads. The player can contact YouTube/Google media and image services, including youtube.com, googlevideo.com, ytimg.com and ggpht.com, and transmit your IP address, device information and requested video. Google may use cookies or player storage under its own policies. We do not read those identifiers. No YouTube or Google resource is requested before activation. See Google Privacy Policy for its processing and retention.

Cloudflare provides the site’s intended hosting, security, and Email Routing service. Requests and forwarded messages may be processed by Cloudflare to deliver the site and handle abuse; operational processing is separate from optional video consent. Mail is forwarded to a Gmail inbox provided by Google for replying to correspondence. No Gmail resource is loaded into a web page. Cloudflare also injects its Web Analytics beacon (static.cloudflareinsights.com) into HTML responses at the edge, for every browser that asks for a page. That beacon is cookieless: it writes nothing to this site’s cookies or localStorage, so the consent choice above cannot switch it off, and no key for it exists here. It sends Cloudflare the page path, the referrer, and coarse device, browser and location details for aggregate traffic measurement, and no advertising identifier is built from it. Legal basis: legitimate interest in aggregate, non-profiling traffic measurement. Retention and processing: Cloudflare’s privacy policy. The only session-replay SDK here is Microsoft Clarity, which stays unloaded until you accept.

Advertising sellers and ad choices

The only seller line in /ads.txt is adsterra.com, 3403020, DIRECT. That file is the public record of who may sell this site’s ad inventory: Adsterra, publisher account 3403020, the same account shown in the Adsterra dashboard for ratatan.pro. There is no Google or AdSense seller line in it, because no AdSense tag, Google ad unit or other ad network runs here. If some crawler reports a seller that is not that line, it is not ours.

Two ad placements exist, no more: one in-page Native Banner inside the article body, and the network’s floating Social Bar format anchored to the viewport. Nothing on this site stacks three networks on one page, and no pop-under, pop-up, push-notification or full-page interstitial format is enabled. Both placements are off until you accept: while your choice is denied or unmade, the page makes no request to any ad server at all, so no advertising identifier for you is created by this site.

Adsterra and its demand partners may serve interest-based advertising after you accept. You control that separately from the banner here: turn off personalised advertising in Google Ads Settings, or opt out with the industry tools at optout.aboutads.info (DAA) and youronlinechoices.eu (EDAA). Declining here, or using Hide ad bar, stops the requests from this site before any of that matters. Adsterra’s own explanation of what it collects and how it uses it is in its privacy policy.

Storage, rights, and mail

The banner stores two localStorage keys on this origin: rt_consent_v1 (the word granted or denied) and rt_consent_at (the time you chose, in milliseconds). They expire after 180 days, and a stale pair is deleted on the next visit. A third key, rt-adbar-hidden (the value 1), is written only if you use Hide ad bar in the footer, and is what keeps the Adsterra floating bar closed on your later visits; Show ad bar deletes it again. Purpose: remember whether analytics storage, session replay, ads and embeds may load. Legal basis: consent. If the browser exposes navigator.globalPrivacyControl as true, the page treats that as a refusal, disables the accept button, and does not store a grant.

Cookie settings reopens your choices. Reject immediately removes active video players and restores local posters, and remembers denied. Reject does not retract what was already sent to Google or Microsoft, and a page that already loaded Clarity keeps that session recording until you reload or leave. It cannot delete storage belonging to another origin; you can separately remove that vendor’s site data in your browser. Email [email protected] to request access, correction, or deletion of correspondence and to raise a privacy concern. We keep mail only as needed to reply and handle follow-up; it is not used for advertising and it is never sold or exchanged for ad inventory. Depending on your jurisdiction you may also complain to your data-protection authority. The operator is identified on About.

Questions

Do you use analytics or ads?

Two analytics tools and one ad network can run here, all of them gated on the same choice. Google Analytics 4 loads with all four Consent Mode v2 storage types denied, so it writes no cookie before you accept. Microsoft Clarity (session replay and heatmaps) is not fetched at all until you accept. Adsterra is the only ad network: one in-page Native Banner and one floating bar, both appended only after you accept, with no ad script in the served HTML. No AdSense tag and no other ad network runs on this site.

How do I change my choice?

Use Cookie settings in the footer, then Reject or Accept. Reject leaves analytics_storage denied, keeps Clarity and the Adsterra units unloaded on the next page load, and stops any ad request. Global Privacy Control forces a refusal.

Can I get rid of the floating ad bar?

Yes. Hide ad bar in the footer closes the Adsterra Social Bar and remembers that in this browser, so it stays closed on later visits until you press Show ad bar. Reject does it too, because no ad script loads at all.
